Bandipora, Sep 07 : The overflow from Wular Lake has flooded the village of Kanyari in Shahgund,stranding residents and making boats necessary for any movement.

In a statement issued to The Web Story/The Varmul Post Army said that, In order to extend support to the helpless locals stranded in waist deep water , Shahgund Army Camp Of 13 Rashtriya Rifles launched immediate relief measures and distributed rations by boat to poor families despite challenging conditions.

The assistance was well received by the villagers and sarpanches, and the locals were assured that any emergency assistance or other requirements will be provided by the Army Camp at the earliest, thereby reinforcing goodwill and strengthening Army–Awaam connect during the crisis the statement reads.
