Jammu, Nov 20 : The State Investigation Agency (SIA) Jammu on Thursday carried out searches at the Kashmir Times (newspaper) office located on Residency Road in Jammu, officials familiar with the development said.
Sources told news agency Kashmir Dot Com (KDC) that, a team of SIA personnel arrived at the office in the morning hours and conducted searches for several hours. The searches was reportedly conducted in connection with an ongoing investigation, though officials did not immediately disclose the specific case or nature of the inquiry.
Witnesses said the team examined documents and digital devices as part of the search. “The officers were inside for a considerable time and checked multiple sections of the office,” sources said.
Authorities have not issued an official statement yet. A Senior SIA official, when contacted, said details would be shared “after procedural formalities are completed.” The officer confirmed news agency Kashmir Dot Com (KDC) that the searches were being carried out in connection with FIR No. 02 of 2025 registered under Section 13 of the UAPA.
