SRINAGAR, July 24: Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai informed the Rajya Sabha that security forces in Jammu and Kashmir have eliminated 900 terrorists since the revocation of Article 370 in 2019.

“In Jammu and Kashmir, terrorists active in the region will face either imprisonment or punishment in the afterlife,” stated Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai during his response to Congress MP Pramod Tiwari’s question in the Rajya Sabha.

“We have zero tolerance for terrorism. We will end terrorism. They (terrorists) will be either in jail or jahannum… I want to assure the House,” he said.

Highlighting recent security operations, Rai reported, “In the past few days, 28 terrorists have been killed in Jammu and Kashmir, and some security personnel have also lost their lives.” He further disclosed that since the revocation of Article 370 in 2019, “the security forces have killed about 900 terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir.”

Rai also underscored the government’s achievements in combating terrorism, stating, “Since 2014, there has been a significant reduction in terror incidents compared to the previous decade.” He cautioned against politicizing security matters and affirmed, “People in Jammu and Kashmir are now living in a peaceful environment with full guarantee of security.”
