MLA Sopore Raises Missing Sopore Man’s Issue in Assembly
The family and relatives of a 36-year-old man who went missing in Delhi 20 days ago staged a peaceful demonstration urging authorities to assist in tracing their son.
Reports reaching The Web Story/The Varmul Post indicate that Shabir Ahmad Shah, son of the late Ghulam Nabi Shah and a resident of Neharpora, has been missing since he traveled to New Delhi. He was earning his livelihood as a street vendor; however, his family has reported that there has been no information about him for the past 20 days.
The protesting family called on the local administration to help them locate their son.
Naseer, a cousin of the missing man, stated that his cousin went to Delhi on February 1 to gather stock for selling on the streets of Sopore. Initially, there was regular communication with the family during the first 15 days of February, but suddenly, on February 16, all communication ceased.
He expressed, “Since then, we have no idea where he is. We are appealing to the authorities to help us trace him.”
Another relative mentioned that after losing contact with their son, they traveled to Delhi and registered a report there. “We even informed the local administration, and we are once again appealing to them to assist us in locating our son.”
Meanwhile, the Member of the Legislative Assembly for the Sopore Constituency, Irshad Rasool Kar, raised this issue in the assembly today.
The MLA discussed the matter in detail in the ongoing assembly session and seeks the administration’s intervention to help the family trace their son.
