The SSP State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) Wednesday visited Sopore to take a first hand report of the search and rescue operation by the various teams in Sopore town of north Kashmir.

Earlier a teenage girl jumped into the river in Sopore from a bridge and the search operation for the missing girl today entered 10th day.

The SSP SDRF Firdous Iqbal as per Webstory correspondent, assured people that the department will come up with all the resources available to retrieve the body of the girl.

After joining the post of SSP SDRF yesterday, it was his first visit of SSP Kashmir Division to Sopore today.

Earlier, the Deputy Commissioner Baramulla paid a visit to the victims family on Tuesday evening and assured every sort of assistance to the family.

The authorities on Tuesday banned unwanted assembly of people and clicking of pictures and videos at the search and rescue operation site in Sopore town of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

A police official said that the assembly of people and clicking pictures and videos by people at the search and rescue operation site is creating a lot of problems for the authorities and has been banned in Sopore.

“People are assembling near the site and clicking pictures and videos for fun. Unprofessional volunteers were also taking part in the rescue operation. So, a blanket ban has been put on such practices from today onwards,” the official said.

He said that a few amateur mobile users were seen trying to sensationalize the issue to gain few likes and views on their videos.
