Srinagar, Oct 31: National Conference president and former Chief Minister Dr. Farooq Abdullah launched a sharp criticism against Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha accusing him of being a “liar.”

Dr. Abdullah’s remarks came in response to the LG’s recent statement that there has been “unnecessary speculation” on the issue of statehood restoration, despite clarity from the Union Home Minister.

“LG is a liar; he lies every day,” Dr. Abdullah stated as per The Web Story/The Varmul Post. He further alleged, “LG Manoj Sinha has never spoken the truth. He has total control over IAS and IPS officers, and not a single file is passed without him.”

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah declined to engage in a war of words with the Lieutenant Governor, stating he would respond only after thoroughly reviewing Sinha’s statement.

However, earlier this week, Omar Abdullah had expressed his own pessimism, admitting that his hopes for the restoration of Jammu and Kashmir’s statehood were fading as the issue remains unresolved.

The controversy arose after Lieutenant Governor Sinha, speaking at an event in Srinagar, stated that the lack of statehood cannot be used as an excuse for “underperformance,” as the elected government has all the necessary powers.
