Jammu, Sep 15 : The General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Army’s White Knight Corps, Lieutenant General P K Mishra, on Tuesday reviewed the ongoing counter-terrorism operations in the Surankote area of Poonch district in Jammu and Kashmir and called for sustained synergy among all security agencies to deny terrorists any operational space, officials said.
The Corps Commander visited forward operational locations and was briefed on the ongoing counter-terrorism operations for domination of the Pir Panjal Range, a robust joint intelligence network and seamless coordination with all security agencies, the Jammu-based White Knight Corps said in a post on X as per The Web Story/The Varmul Post.
He was accompanied by the GOC of Romeo Force, a counter-insurgency formation responsible for operations in the twin border districts of Poonch and Rajouri.
“The GOC commended the professional conduct and unwavering commitment of all stakeholders and lauded the relentless operations to deny inimical elements any operational space, despite challenging terrain and weather conditions,” the post read.
Officials said the review focused on sharpening the counter-terrorism grid, tightening the intelligence-sharing mechanism and maintaining sustained pressure on terror networks operating in the region.
The visit comes amid intensified counter-terrorism operations in the Pir Panjal region, where security forces have been engaged in a sustained hunt for infiltrating terrorists and efforts to dismantle terror infrastructure.
The Army has been carrying out relentless operations in the challenging mountainous terrain along the Line of Control (LoC) to thwart infiltration attempts and neutralise terror modules, officials said.
