Jammu, Jun 8: Udhampur police have arrested two men, Dalip Kumar son of Ramesh Kumar and Ravinder Kumar son of Bansi Lal, both residents of Panchound, Tehsil Ramnagar, District Udhampur, within 24 hours of the alleged rape of two minor girls from the Chattrari area of Ramnagar.
An official told The Web Story/The Varmul Post that on Saturday morning, an information was received at PS Ramnagar that two minor girls from Chattrari, Ramnagar, were raped by the accused in a jungle area near Chattrari while returning home from a school picnic last evening.
The accused fled the scene after committing the crime.
He said upon receiving this information, a case (FIR No. 62/2024) was registered under relevant sections of law at PS Ramnagar.
A police team promptly rushed to the location and found the two girls unconscious in the jungle. They were immediately taken to SDH Ramnagar for treatment, and police teams were dispatched to various suspected locations to apprehend the accused.
Subsequently, a police team led by SHO PS Ramnagar successfully arrested both suspects, solving the rape case within 24 hours he added.
