Two Attacks in Just Four Days After Govt. Elected : Isn’t It Concerning?

Ganderbal, Oct 20 : It has been just four days since Jammu and Kashmir marked the formation of its first elected government in the union territory since the revocation of its special status in 2019. However, reports of two militant attacks during this brief period raise serious concerns about the overall security situation.
Earlier this week in Shopian, a migrant worker from Bihar was allegedly killed by militants.
In a fresh attack, two non-local residents were killed in the Ganderbal district of central Kashmir.
Reports reaching The Web Story/The Varmul Post said that the two laborers sustained critical injuries after militants opened fire on them in the Gagangeer area of Kangan this evening.
A senior police officer informed The Web Story/The Varmul Post that the militants targeted the two laborers who were working on a tunnel project. The victims were promptly evacuated to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The officer confirmed that the entire area has been sealed off to apprehend the attackers.
How’ver as per local sources, both injured laborers succumbed to their injuries in the hospital.
Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir Chief minister Omar Abdullah in a post on X condemned the attack and said ‘Very sad news of a dastardly & cowardly attack on non-local labourers at Gagangir in Sonamarg region. These people were working on a key infrastructure project in the area. 2 have been killed & 2-3 more have been injured in this militant attack. I strongly condemn this attack on unarmed innocent people & send my condolences to their loved ones he said.
