Awantipora police have attached a double-storey residential house valued at approximately ₹1.20 crore belonging to a suspected drug peddler under the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, officials said on Wednesday.
The property, located in Kadlabal Pampore, belongs to Manzoor Mir alias Mann Tiger, a listed drug peddler. The attachment was carried out under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act as part of an ongoing inquiry by Police Station Pampore.
According to police, the inquiry established that the property was acquired through proceeds generated from the illegal sale of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances.
Manzoor Mir is named in multiple first information reports (FIRs) related to drug trafficking and narcotics offences in the area, officials said.
Police said the action was aimed at dismantling the financial networks of drug traffickers, adding that the Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyaan provided the broader framework for the drive.
Local residents have welcomed the move, police added.
