Ahead of Member of Parliament (MP) from Srinagar, Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi’s scheduled visit to Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district concerns have emerged as the local National Conference (NC) unit, including Sopore MLA Irshad Rasool Kar, remains unaware of the plans, sources revealed.
Sources within the NC’s Sopore unit told The Varmul Post/The Web Story that no official communication regarding Ruhullah’s visit had been received. Even the constituency’s MLA, was reportedly not informed about the MP’s itinerary, raising questions about internal coordination.
This development comes amid ongoing tensions within the National Conference, following months of speculation regarding differences between MP Ruhullah and party leaders, including Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.
However, earlier this month, Ruhullah dismissed rumors of his exit from the party as “baseless and false,” attempting to quell the growing speculation.
