Baramulla, Oct 26: The Indian Army recovered two old artillery shells during a search operation in the forest area of Dogripora Rafiabad of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
According to officials quoted by news agency KNT, the shells were subsequently destroyed in a safe and controlled manner by a Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS). Defense sources elaborated that troops from the 32 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) identified two suspicious metallic objects while conducting a routine patrol of the Dogripora forest. The area was immediately secured, and a specialized team was dispatched to examine and neutralize the potential threat.
Following a thorough technical assessment and strict adherence to safety protocols, the Bomb Disposal Squad carried out a controlled detonation to destroy both shells. The operation was concluded smoothly without any property damage or personal injury.
Preliminary reports indicate the recovered shells were old and heavily rusted reported news agency KNT.
