Meet Fayaz Ahmad Wagay, a daily wager worker in the Power Development Department (PDD) from Hakbara village in North Kashmir’s Bandipora district has emerged as an inspiring example of determination and selflessness through his unwavering dedication to his duty.
On Tuesday, as cold winds howled and snow blanketed Hajin, the CHC plunged into darkness due to an unexpected electricity snag late at night. With lives depending on uninterrupted power supply, the situation quickly became critical. However, Fayaz Ahmad’s resolute commitment shone through.
Despite rain and snow, Fayaz Ahmad arrived at the CHC around 11:30 pm and restored the electricity, as noted by an employee at the CHC.
This act of bravery and dedication by Fayaz Ahmad was deeply appreciated and admired.
In an interview with The Web Story, Fayaz Ahmad Wagay said the challenges faced by PDD employees during winters, without safety gear, as they work to fix issues by climbing atop electricity poles.
Fayaz Ahmad said that it may be easy for people to criticize on social media, but the true hardships endured by PDD employees often go unnoticed.
He further stated that their top priority is fixing the problems faced by hospitals and government institutes to ensure their smooth functioning. Regardless of rain, snow, or drought, their focus remains on keeping Hajin town illuminated, Fayaz added.
