How Palhallan YouTuber Is Trading Conflict for Coding

Suhail Khan

Baramulla, Nov 25: The era when nurturing talent in Kashmir was merely a dream is now a thing of the past. Since the abrogation of Article 370, which has positively impacted the security situation in Kashmir, the youth are spreading their wings to fly, writing their own success stories and inspiring others.

For years, successful individuals from the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir have made the region and the country proud. This momentum continues, with a more peaceful Kashmir producing new shining examples of achievement every day.

The latest in the limelight is a young tech creator from Palhallan in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, an area long known as a hotbed of separatism. Shahid Nazir is setting a new benchmark after receiving an official invitation to the Google office in Gurgaon, recognizing him among the country’s top tech educators.

There was a time when dreaming big seemed futile here, and mustering the courage to pursue those dreams was even rarer. However, changing times have shifted mindsets, opening doors to success and creating platforms for the youth to excel.

Speaking Exclusively with The Web Story/The Varmul Post, Nazir shared his excitement about attending a Google tech meet at their Gurgaon office.

“It was a dream come true and a step towards a beautiful future,” he said. “I am so happy to have been a part of it.”

He stated that his YouTube channel, ‘Press Play Tech,’ which has 143,000 subscribers, grew by providing clear and simple tech tips that reached a wide audience.

“This work earned me recognition from YouTube and an invitation to a special creator meet with top tech educators from across the country,” he explained.

He added that the achievement was not only personal but also a proud moment for his family. “They always boost my morale and help me achieve my goals,” he said.

According to Nazir, the Google session provided valuable information for tech creators on how to grow their channels and spread more authentic, informative content.

He mentioned that the invitation was based on having one of the fastest-growing YouTube channels. “I was glad to be part of the meet, and all the sessions were informative,” he said.

Nazir said that pursuing dreams, especially in social media, is challenging. This is especially true for someone from a small Kashmiri village, where dreaming big was once considered pointless.

“But as they say, when you have a strong desire and believe in yourself, dreams do come true,” he stated. “I feel that’s exactly what happened to me. Reaching this point makes me feel my efforts are paying off, and with this confidence, I will continue to work even harder.”

Notably, the youth of Kashmir have been making great strides in various fields for years, proving their mettle and elevating the region’s prestige.

The government is also making efforts to channel more youth toward sports and other platforms to secure their futures. From entrepreneurship to sports and beyond, the young people of Kashmir are marching ahead, authoring their own stories of success.
