The higher reaches of Gulmarg in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district received the season’s first snowfall on Saturday night.
An official at the Meteorological Department (MeT) Srinagar told The Web Story that the upper reaches of Gulmarg received light snowfall and rainfall until Sunday morning.
It was the season’s first snowfall in the Gulmarg range.
The official further said that today the maximum temperature of Gulmarg was recorded at 15 °C, which is 3°C lower than yesterday.
The Meteorological Department (MeT) predicted on Saturday a prolonged period of hot and dry weather conditions for the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir during the next week.
Director of the MeT Srinagar Centre, Sonam Lotus, said that from Sunday onwards, they were expecting mainly dry and clear weather until September 29. A brief spell of rain and thunderstorms at isolated places can’t be ruled out during the same period, he said.
