Tangdar, Oct. 16: The Indian Army has once again come to the aid of stranded citizens in the Tangdar sector of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
Despite the closure of several highways due to fresh snowfall, the Army took charge of the situation at Sadna Top in Kupwara, ensuring the safe passage of both passengers and private vehicles throughout the day.
Eyewitnesses, while talking to The Web Story, expressed their deep admiration for the heroic efforts of the Indian Army, highlighting their invaluable assistance in helping stranded vehicles reach their destinations and providing hope amidst the challenging weather conditions.
As the sadna top was covered in a white blanket of snow, which took many travelers by surprise, the Army played a pivotal role in rescuing those in need and instilling a sense of optimism in the midst of the adverse conditions.
While the plains experienced normal rainfall, it was the upper reaches of Kashmir that witnessed fresh snowfall.
Following the current situation of the Tangdar-Kupwara road, authorities in Kupwara have issued a weather advisory, cautioning residents living near Nallahs or rivers prone to sliding and flash floods to avoid venturing into these areas until the weather conditions improve.
Meanwhile, the in-charge director of the meteorological department in Srinagar, Mukhtar Ahmad, has stated that the weather is expected to improve from the 17th onwards.
According to Ahmad, there will be no significant rains or snowfall until the 24th of October, offering a favorable climate for the harvesting of crops.
This period of respite will undoubtedly be a relief to the agricultural community, allowing them to carry out their vital work without further interruption.
