Hopes for Bright Future for Youth Cricketers

Jammu : Indian Cricket legend Irfan Pathan, on Wednesday, expressed that Jammu and Kashmir holds a special place in his heart and will continue to do so even as he grows older.

During a press conference, Irfan Pathan as per The Web Story said with two reasons the union territory is significant to him.

He said firstly, I had played cricket for 20 years, and the two years I spent working in Jammu and Kashmir are the most beautiful in my entire life. He said I was impressed by the immense talent exhibited by the youth in the region. Secondly, the passion that the youth possess in aspiring to become skilled cricketers and I hope With the administration’s support, the days are not far when they will shine on the national level.

Irfan Pathan said that, more than just talent, it is the passion that truly matters, and the youth in Jammu and Kashmir display a remarkable level of determination. He said the importance of providing them a platform to showcase their skills and reach new heights.

Speaking about the Moulana Azad Jammu cricket stadium, Irfan Pathan appreciated the incredible love and support shown by the fans, even amidst rainy conditions. Although there are certain issues with the ground, he emphasized that it is the first time such high-volume matches have been played there, and improvements can be expected in the future.

Irfan stated that the presence of legendary cricketers from around the world playing matches in Jammu and Kashmir will undoubtedly inspire the local youth.

Pertinently, The 10th match of the LLC 2023 season between Bhilwara Kings and Southern Super Stars at the Maulana Azad Stadium in Jammu had to be abandoned due to rain. As a result, both teams shared points.

The Maulana Azad stadium, built in 1966, is one of the home grounds of the Jammu and Kashmir cricket team. The last international match that took place at this venue was between India and New Zealand on December 19, 1988, before militancy issues prevented further international fixtures.

Regarding the remaining two games, one will be played between India Capitals under the leadership of Gautam Gambhir, taking on Parthiv Patel-led Gujarat Giants. The fourth and final match in Jammu will see Bhilwara Kings face Suresh Raina’s Urbanrisers Hyderabad on Friday.
