Says collective effort is important to fight against this virus.

The Jammu-Kashmir Nationalist People’s Front (JKNPF), the first political party in the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir, has been actively engaged in the fight against drug addiction and on Monday called for community participation to eradicate drug addiction in the valley.

Amid rising drug abuse in Kashmir, the chief patron of JKNPF, Sanjay Kumar, urged imams and other religious leaders to speak out against the drugs and spread awareness among people.

He said, Our youth needs to know that this path is wrong, this thing must be in the mind of the youth,” and for this prayer leaders can play an important role.

He said society has to come forward. Community participation is a must, and, headed by Imans, other religious leaders will give a fruitful result and can help by saving the younger generation in the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

The JKNPF chief patron, Sanjay Kumar, said his party is trying its best to do its bit, but it’s the responsibility of all to come forward voluntarily, and together we will fight to eradicate it.

The JKNPF (Jammu-Kashmir Nationalist People’s Front) has been raising key issues facing the masses in J&K. The young team of JKNPF has been holding a series of walkathons to raise awareness against addiction.

After Bandipora, Anantnag, and Kulgam, the JKNF organized a massive walkathon in South Kashmir’s Pulwama today.

Shiekh Muzafar, the party’s president, said there is a need to create awareness and enhance people’s understanding of the issue of drug abuse.

He said there is also a role for parents and teachers. They should call ulema to schools so we can make students understand. “It is important to save those who are not yet involved in drug abuse,” he added.

“It is clear that drug abuse is haram (forbidden), but there is a need to make people understand it, he said.
