Srinagar, Feb 11 : Kamran Mohammad Shamas, a student at Lovely Professional University Phagwara Jalandhar, has brought honor to the Lolab Valley in District Kupwara by winning a gold medal in the 90 plus kilogram category full combat Wushu competition at the All India Inter University Wushu 2023.
The competition was held at Chandigarh University Mohali and saw the participation of over 1100 students from 112 universities as per The Web Story.
Kamran won five consecutive knockouts in the competition, starting with his victory over Bharat from OPJS University.
He then beat Jayant from Madhav University in the second fight and Vikrant from Jammu University in a highly competitive and crowd-pulling third fight.
In the fourth fight, Kamran emerged victorious against Vikas from CCS University in another memorable match. Finally, in the tail end of the competition, Kamran beat Sartaj from Chandigarh University to lift the trophy and win the gold medal.
Kamran’s strength, skill, and acrobatics were unmatched by any of the competitors, and he became the first of his kind to win a gold medal from the Lolab Valley. The achievement has brought pride to the region and Kamran’s supporters are thrilled with his success.
