Srinagar: Around two dozen Kashmir-based students are being forced to shave-off their beards by authorities of a Tamil Nadu college, Jammu & Kashmir Students’ Association said on Tuesday.
Taking to microblogging site ‘X’, J&KSA National Convenor Nasir Khuehami wrote, “It is shocking that around 2 dozen Kashmiri students currently enrolled in a Tamil Nadu college are being forced to shave thr beards before they can be allowed to enter the college. It raises serious questions about the protection of fundamental rights.”
“This incident occurred at the College of Nursing, Chengalpattu Govt Medical College & Hospital in Chengalpattu, Tamil Nadu. I the Tamil Nadu Chief @mkstalin to intervene immediately & ensure the protection of the fundamental rights (sic.),” the post concludes.
