Kupwara: When it comes to bringing aid to the people, some efforts put forward are beyond recognition and some works will be remembered for a very long time, particularly when it’s a really cold winter and especially when it’s in remote border districts.
One such story is that of the district Kupwara where district administration machinery cleared snow from 1955 KM of road length in a single day, making it motorable for the commuters.
Locals in Kupwara said that history was created in the border district when district administrators in a single day cleared almost all the roads of snow and assisted people in free and safe journeys.
An official in a chat with The Web Story said after the season’s fresh snowfall, men and machines were put on the ground and a total of 1955 kilometres of road length were cleared of snow in just six hours on Friday.
He said out of 1955 km, 804 were cleared by R&B, 707 by mechanical engineering, 250 by Beacon, and 194 km by PMGSY.
