Jammu, Dec 08 : A teacher was arrested for allegedly raping a minor girl at Madrassa Dar-ul-Quran Goila in the Gandoh area of Doda district in Jammu.
The accused teacher has been identified as Nasir Majeed. Soon after police received a complaint about the incident, an FIR was registered under the relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the POCSO Act.
The cops swiftly constituted a probe team and nabbed the accused within 3 hours of filing the complaint. It is learnt that Majeed had gone into hiding after committing the crime. However, through timely intelligence and effective teamwork, cops managed to apprehend him. Meanwhile, the rape survivor’s medical examination was conducted at GMC Doda. Further investigation into the matter is underway. (Agencies)
