The Indian Railways is set to introduce a new Vande Bharat Sleeper train service from New Delhi to Srinagar by early 2025. The high-speed train will cover the over 800-kilometer distance in less than 13 hours, providing a faster and more comfortable travel option for passengers official said.
According to official sources, the upcoming train will offer three different classes of accommodations – AC 3 Tier (₹2000), AC 2 Tier (₹2500), and AC First Class (₹3000). The train will depart from New Delhi at 7:00 PM and reach Srinagar by 8:00 AM, making key stops at stations like Ambala, Ludhiana, Jammu Tawi, and Banihal.
“This new Vande Bharat Sleeper train will revolutionize travel between the national capital and the Kashmir Valley. With world-class amenities and swift journey time, it will provide a convenient and comfortable option for both business and leisure travelers,” told a senior Railway Ministry official to The Web Story/The Varmul Post.
The introduction of the Vande Bharat Sleeper train is part of the Indian Railways’ ambitious plan to expand high-speed rail connectivity across the country. It comes at a time when domestic tourism in India is witnessing a strong revival in the post-pandemic era, making efficient transportation solutions crucial.
“We are confident that the Vande Bharat Sleeper train will be widely welcomed by passengers traveling between New Delhi and Srinagar. It will not only reduce journey time but also offer a more enjoyable and comfortable travel experience,” the official added.
