Baramulla : A retired Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) was shot dead by suspected militants at Gantamulla village in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
Sources said that a retired SSP identified as Mohammed Shafi Mir was fired upon and critically injured by suspected militants when he was offering prayers in mosque at his native village Gantamulla Bala in Baramulla district.
He was immediately evacuated to hospital for treatment, however he succumbed to his injuries, sources added.
Meanwhile, security forces have cordoned off entire area to nab the attackers.
