Srinagar, Dec 24: The President of the Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP), Ghulam Nabi Azad, has called for unified action among various stakeholders to ensure peace and stability in Kashmir.
Speaking at a public meeting in Sopore, Azad expressed concern over recent incidents that have threatened the fragile calm in the region.
He said 6-7 months ago Kashmir was free from such incidents due to efforts of the government, but today’s situation is worrisome.
Azad highlighted the need for proactive measures to prevent situations that could lead to unrest in Kashmir. Despite a period of relative calm, recent events such as civilian deaths and the killing of army personnel in Poonch have raised alarm bells.
Calling for a collective effort, Azad stressed the importance of involving the community, political entities, and the government in combating terrorism and addressing the critical situation at hand.
He urged all stakeholders to work together to prevent the resurgence of tensions and maintain peace in the region.
