All Schools, Colleges to Remian Closed in Three Districts of Kashmir

Jammu, May 7 :At least three people were killed after Pak resorted to heavy shelling in the Poonch Sector on Wednesday.

Officials said that during overnight heavy shelling by Pakistan in the Poonch area, three people were killed and also forest office Poonch are destroyed.

The three deceased have been identified as Mohd Adil son of Shaheen Noor, Saleem Hussain son of Altaf Hussain and Ruby Kour wife of Shallu Singh.

Army also also in a statement said that During the night of 06-07 May 2025, Pakistan Army resorted to arbitrary firing including Artillery shelling from posts across the Line of Control and IB opposite J&K.

Three innocent civilians lost their lives in indiscriminate firing/shelling. Indian Army are responding in proportionate manner.

Meanwhile, in the backdrop of Pahalgam attack, India during early hours of Wednesday has striked inside PoK and Pakistan at various places against terror sites.

In a statement a Defence spokesman said that altogether, nine (9) sites have been targeted. Our actions have been focused, measured and non-escalatory in nature. No Pakistani military facilities have been targeted. India has demonstrated considerable restraint in selection of targets and method of execution. These steps come in the wake of the barbaric Pahalgam terrorist attack in which 25 Indians and one Nepali citizen were murdered. We are living up to the commitment that those responsible for this attack will be held accountable. There will be detailed briefing on ‘OPERATION SINDOOR’, later today.

Meanwhile, Divisional commissioner Kashmir on wednesday said that all educational institution acroos three districts of Kashmir will remain closed today.

Div Com Kashmir Vijay Kumar Bidhuri said, “Considering the present situation education institutions, schools, colleges in Baramulla, Kupwara & Gurez will remain closed for today.”

Authorities have urged the public to remain alert and stay calm, while follow official advisories as a precautionary measure.
