KUPWARA, Oct 14: Army claimed to have killed two terrorists after thwarting an infiltration attempt along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Machil sector of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

Official sources informed The Web Story/The Varmul Post that the operation was launched late Monday night after security forces observed suspicious movement near the LoC. The infiltrators were confronted by troops in the Machil sector, leading to a brief exchange of fire.

“Two terrorists were killed during the engagement,” official sources stated. “However, their bodies have not yet been recovered.”

Sources added that the operation in the area is ongoing.

Earlier on Monday evening, the Indian Army stated in a social media post: “In the Kupwara sector of Jammu and Kashmir, Indian Army troops witnessed some suspicious movement along the Line of Control and fired towards it in the evening, around 7 PM. Operations are continuing in the area.”
