Srinagar: Taking strong note of the memes that are being posted on social media platforms about a Srinagar lady who, as per police, was arrested for stabbing her fiance in broad daylight in Chattabal area last week, advocate Bahat Kour on Tuesday warned social media page handlers to delete all those memes or else be ready to face the consequences.
Talking to a local news portal as per The Web Story, Advocate Bharat Kour, while lashing out on the social media influencers, said, “How can you decide she is wrong without waiting for the court version? Have you gone through the other side of the story?
How can so-called social activists decide on social media by posting memes?
She said there is no doubt they have a large fan following, but that doesn’t mean they can defame someone without having any proof.
Advocate Bharat said activism doesn’t mean listening to one-sided stories and then posting them on social media. I stand with this, I stand with that, and better is to post that I stand with truth and justice should be delivered at earliest,” she added.
She stated that the family of the Srinagar girl is being harassed on social media. She warned all the page handlers to delete all the material related to this case until a court statement comes, or else be ready for the deformation as you are no one to decide until a court statement comes.
Pertinently, she is presently lodged in women’s police station, Rambagh under IPC 307 and 323 with FIR No 57/2023 in Safakadal PS.
