Breaking Barriers: Bandipora’s Female Cricketer Joins KU’s Women’s Team

Bandipora, Nov 10: Masarat Bashir, a 3rd semester BA student and an emerging cricketer from Hassan Khoyihami Memorial (HKM) Government Degree in Bandipora, has secured a spot in the Kashmir University’s women’s cricket team.

An official spokesperson said that Masarat, a resident of Malagam village, one of the cricketers from Bandipora College who took part in the Kashmir University Women’s Tournament has been selected in the team. “Thanks to her outstanding performance, she has secured a spot in the university team and is the sole representative from our college,” spokesperson said.

He said that this significant milestone comes on the heels of her outstanding performance in the ongoing Inter-college Women’s Cricket Tournament organised by Kashmir University.

“Her journey to the university team is a testament to her exceptional skills, unwavering dedication, and prowess on the cricket field,” he said, adding that her selection not only reflects her personal success but also spotlights the promising talents emerging from the Bandipora region.

The official said that this accomplishment is particularly noteworthy as it underscores the growing influence and prowess of female athletes in the cricketing arena.

“Degree College Bandipora is beaming with pride as they celebrate Masarat’s achievement,” he added.

He further said that the college administration acknowledges her dedication and hopes that this is just the beginning of a successful journey on the university platform.

“Her success serves as an inspiration for aspiring young players in the district, encouraging them to pursue their passion for cricket,” he said.

“While she prepares to represent Kashmir University, people extend their support, excitedly anticipating her ongoing achievements. This achievement not only brings joy to the college but also showcases the wealth of talent in the local sports scene,” he added.
