Kupwara, Jan 04 : A devastating fire broke out at Kupwara bazar in north Kashmir causing significant damage to a residential house and numerous shops.
Reports reaching The Web Story said, the fire broke out at Dar-Gali market in the late hours of Wednesday and quickly spread, engulfing around 20 shops in its path.
Local businessmen, who were alerted to the scene in the middle of the night, expressed deep distress over the incident. They stated that the fire originated from one shop and rapidly spread, causing immense destruction to the entire market.
In response to the emergency, fire emergency, police, locals promptly arrived at the scene and were able to bring the fire under control by Thursday morning. Unfortunately, their efforts were not enough to save the large number of shops that had already been gutted by the fire.
Meanwhile, the cause of fire was not known immediately, however police took cognizance of this fire mishap and started investigation.
