Uri, Dec 16: In a pioneering initiative towards women’s empowerment, the Indian Army presents the inaugural Women’s Cricket Uri Premier League, which kicked off on Saturday.

This ground-breaking event is poised to transcend boundaries, fostering a spirit of inclusion, skill development, and empowerment among the talented girls of Uri.

The league was inaugurated by Deputy Commander Kalapahar Brigade in front of a huge local crowd in Uri, which came in support of the event.

The inaugural match of the Women’s Cricket Uri Premier League saw Team 360, Uri, take on Government Degree College Uri in front of a remarkable local crowd.

The atmosphere was electric as these talented girls showcased their skills and passion for the sport. The tournament promises to be a landmark event in women’s sports, with six dynamic teams competing for cricket supremacy.

This league goes far beyond the boundaries of the cricket field.
